Program Overview
The Capstone Design Program is an industry-linked team project in which teams of four or more students solve real problems alongside an industry mentor. It is the RISE programme's flagship practical course.
AI convergence major capstones receive first priority for support, and strong results are recognised at the competition and the showcase.
Program Process

Team and topic selection
Form a team of four or more and choose an industry-linked problem.

Mentor matching
An industry practitioner is assigned to each team to guide the project.

Project execution
Run the project across one semester, with a mid-term review.

Showcase and competition
Present the final work; outstanding teams are selected at the competition.

Eligibility
- Enrolled Cheju Halla University students (bachelor's and associate's)
- Able to form a team of four or more
- AI convergence major students receive priority
- Teams may be within one department or across departments
Using AI Tools
Capstone projects may use AI tools freely: generative assistants such as ChatGPT, Claude, and Copilot, and tools for data analysis, computer vision, and natural language processing. Pick what fits the problem and build something better with it.
Expected Outcomes
- Practical problem-solving ability, built on an industry-linked project
- Better readiness for the workplace, through working with an industry mentor
- A portfolio piece, and the confidence that comes with placing at the competition
- Stronger command of AI tools, and the edge that brings
- Collaboration and communication skills earned on a real team project
